Weekend Attire: Saturday Errands and Aldo Cadawen Heels

Hi Loves-

It is freezing in NY but that didn't stop me from my Saturday shenanigans. I spent the whole day with my mother. Our first stop was the furrier. I had to drop two of my furs off (and of course try a new one on). Like I stated in a previous post it is important to take care of your coats. They should last you for YEARS. There was slight rip in one of mine so I took it to get fixed and I stored my other fur. 

Let me say this: LADIES & GENTLEMEN DO NOT DRIVE IN YOUR FURS (the pressure from you sitting on them can rip the arms or back of your fur). Furs are delicate. Before you drive lay your coat on the passenger side seat or the back seat just don't hop in the car and pull off (use me as an example).  

After spending my hard earned money at the furrier we headed to the mall. Roaming the mall with my mother is a gift and a curse (my love of fashion and perfume comes from her). We went into high and low end stores and found a bunch of dope items

 FYI Aldo is having an amazing 50% off sale.  Even though nothing on sale caught my eye something else did! 

The Cadawen High Heel from Aldo is the sexiest shoe I have seen from them in a minute! I didn't purchase it today but I have not stopped thinking about them since I left the store!  

I personally do not think Aldo has the most comfortable shoes but these are so sexy I could stand the pain!

Gag Worthy: Rosina Savage

I don't know how I ended up on the Rosina Savage Instagram page but LAWD I do not regret it! I know the newest trend is what I call Peggy Bundy heels! And yes, I am ALL FOR THEM!! LOVE LOVE LOVE. I think they are beyond feminine. Can you imagine these beauties with a body con skirt and bodysuit? Or a sexy pantsuit. Endless options! 

Back to Rosina Savage. It is owned by the beautiful and uber talented dope girl Nicola Savage and she provides you with custom shoes. 

You can pick and choose the color of the shoes and what color feathers you would like to place on your shoes. You have six amazing options (including snake skin). I will definitely be purchasing these shoes in the near future and I will give you guys my full and honest review! Until then enjoy the pictures.

TBT: New Years Eve 2013

In honor of "Throwback Thursday" I thought I would share my New Year's Eve outfit from a couple of years ago.

This outfit was one of the simplest I have ever put together. From the first time I saw the dress on Instagram I knew I had to have it. So I searched and found it on Junim LA .  When I originally purchased the dress there was only a medium left I really wanted a large because I wanted it to fit more like a loose tee rather than a tight dress. I feel like New Year's is not a time to be confined and uncomfortable. I decided to pray on it and ended up ordering the medium! I LOVED the outcome! I am sure I would have loved the large even more but it wasn't an option.  The dress was around $200 when I purchases it but you are in luck because I looked on the website today and not only is it available in all sizes but now it's only $80! Before I forget to mention since the dress is sequence it can be worn in either gold or black!! Same dress different colors! 

I decided to pair the dress with Aminah Abdul Jillil black suede bow pump. Ladies I will not lie they are not comfortable but they are BEAUTIFUL!!! and they matched the dress perfectly! These shoes are also still available! You can definitely recreate my New Years look for any occasion!

Update: Cazals 642

I blogged about these sunnies last week. And please note I did say " When I obsess I usually purchase". Well the past weekend my Cazal connect hit me and said "Crys I got those 642's for you I am going to drop them off" EXCUSE ME!!!! Did you just say you have the very pair of sunnies I just BLOGGED about? I swear it does pay off to know people who like the same stuff you do! 

Because I love you guys I will give you his contact information at the end of this post. I don't believe in hogging things! 

Let me tell you what the Cazals come with: 1) the case 2) the cloth to clean your sunglasses (please for the love of everything holy DO NOT use glass cleaner on your glasses. Go to any optical store and get the correct cleaner) 3) a cloth case for your Sunnies (great for preventing scratches) 4)the certificate authenticating the glasses. Make sure you receive all of these things when you purchase from a reputable seller. 

I haven't wore them out yet due to the storm! But believe me I will rock them before the week is over and post some pictures.

Winter Wear: Leather Jackets

Soooo since I have been snowed in today! I decided to start thinking about things that women wear during freezing temperatures! Let me say this- I HAVE COMMITTED THIS CRIME BEFORE!! 

Wearing leather jackets in anything under 40 degree weather should be illegal but people continue to do so. So I decided to go on Polyvore and see if I could remix this horrid trend to be a little more acceptable. 

Again, I do not condone wearing a leather in the cold but if you are going to do it you might as well look cute. Here is my suggestion. An amazing fur stole. eBay has a heap of them! A cute pair of biker jeans. H&M has a similar pair to the ones pictured above. Of course a dope pair of sunnies (pictured above are Grey Ants) and an amazing lippie. This outfit is great for the club or dinner I wouldn't suggest you staying out all day in this but it should last you for a couple of hours.

VIA SPIGA: Hooded Diamond Quilt Jacket

WAIT WAIT WAIT! Hold the damn PHONE!!!!

This blog post is to show you the POWER of the internet and the power of COMPARISON shopping. As I browsed the Nordstrom website looking for a spring jacket (because we all know I dream about warmer weather). 

I saw a fly Via Spiga Jacket for $198. Something said to me why don't you google this jacket.  Not only did I find it for $120 cheaper but I found it in a doper color! You read correctly CHEAPER AND DOPER!!! Scored!

TJMAXX had the same jacket for $79.99 and the jacket comes in Olive with gold hardware and a detachable hood. You cannot beat it with deal. 

This jacket comes in XS-XL. Currently all the sizes are available. 

This goes to show you that you should never take the first price as the only price. All you need to is little bit of digging!

Being Snatched: Getting My Life

Ugh! I have been thinking (and dreading) about this post for a couple of months. I really did not want to blog about this topic but I feel like when I put it into the universe I am held accountable for it. So here we go! 

I am definitely a "New Years Resolution", "around my birthday", "event coming up", "I am going on vacation and cannot look crazy"  kind of girl!! Let me explain. I totally hype myself up about why I need to lose weight and do it for a couple of weeks and stop. Main reason is I am just too lazy (oohh how I really want to lie to y'all and say I am too busy). There are times I get up at 4:45 in the morning and meet my trainer and eat healthy start losing weight then I have a bad day and it's all out the window! 

I am the type of girl you see in a multitude of classes (which can range from bikram to spin) go 4 or 5 days a week. Then I just fall off! So, again, I felt like if I blog about it I will be a little stricter with myself because I am hoping you guys will hold me responsible for slacking. Slacking does not intentionally happen all the time- LIFE happens. I just need to know that for an hour or so a day I have to do some type of physical activity.

I am also not to greatest with eating. I love food and wine. When I food prep I feel like I do my best but I also gag when I have to eat any type of leftovers. I hate leftovers with a passion. So I know I am not going to be the girl that prepares for the whole week. I have to find time in my schedule each day to make my breakfast, lunch and dinner. YOU HAVE TO BE HONEST with yourself. 

I plan to start this whole healthy lifestyle tomorrow. I really want to say today but it is not happening! I am going to the grocery store today after a meeting and will keep you guys updated. 

Oh last but not least HELLLLL NO I am not ready to share my actual weight yet! Maybe when I reach my goal! The pic above is about a 30 pound weight difference! Everything in moderation!

Work Attire: Express- Wool Blend Zip Front Cape

So I think my blogging trend for this week is definitely work attire. I told you guys I am looking to start shopping for the spring and reinventing my work wardrobe all at the same time. 

                                              

I finally went on to Express. I wasn't really in love with anything but I did like their Wool Blend Zip Front Cape. I think it't uber cute and it is perfect for work! It is black to it goes with anything. And of course it is on sale for $99. I am sure they have some type of coupon also. Again, I don't think it is necessary to spend a million bucks in order to look like a million bucks. 

You can pair a cape with flats, heels, a skirt, a dress or pants! The cape is also good for two seasons (fall and spring). It is also good to buy things they give you a multitude of choices.

Sale of the Day: IRO Sisoka Ankle-Cuff Sandals

As I sit here browsing the Barney's website I found these jewels. A lot of people don't know this but Barney's Warehouse has the BEST deals! That is no exaggeration! Sales up to 70% off! Grant it, I have never heard of this particular designer but these babies are AMAZING!!! 

Looks can be very deceiving. I thought these heels were about 3" but they are actually 4.25". That means if you are not used to wearing heels on the higher end these are not for you. 

The Sisoka's were originally $865 now they are on sale for $349 . 59% off! Not sure if I am going to purchase but they are SO pretty to look at :-)

Let's Talk: Work Gear

Ladies let's talk about being suited and booted for work. Believe me I know it's easy to fall into the average weird bell-bottom  wide leg work pants and a button down and sweater (of course because your office is chilly).  I was a victim of that for a couple of years ( I am not scared to admit that). Then one of my closest friends said to me "Crystal, you are impeccable outside of work but not at work! You throw stuff on, barely put on makeup and throw your hair back into a ponytail"

Now again it took a couple of months (almost close to a year) to care or let those words sink in but when it did my work life changed!!! I started putting as much thought into what I was going to wear out to a function into what I was going to wear to work and I almost instantly got promoted. I am not joking! 

Let's really think about it. Why wouldn't you want to look your best at a place that you are at for most of your day! You are with your coworkers more than you are with your loved ones. I totally understand if you work somewhere where uniform is required but by no means does that mean you need to look disheveled.

I think, like most people, I thought work attire needed to be boring and all the same. Boy, was I wrong! I can shop almost anywhere and come up with amazing finds. Matter of fact, most of the things I pick up I think about work first before I think about anything else. 

Ladies just change the way you are looking at work attire and I promise you people will take notice and look at you differently. You ever think to yourself "I work so hard but get overpassed"? It just might be you what you wear and how you wear it!

Snatch of the Day: Orla Faux Fur Leather Biker Sleeve Coat Red Check

I first saw this beauty on Pockets and Bows YouTube Channel . I listened to her whole review and was instantly sold on the coat. I went out to Miss Guided to purchase and GUESS WHAT it was a fraction of the price! But guess what else? They only had one damn size that wasn't mine! As you guys are well aware I stalk things! I checked again yesterday and they restocked the coat but the price went back to what it originally was. I am not complaining! I dropped this bad boy in my cart and kept it moving! I hate knowing that I missed something great because I did not grab it when I had the chance.

They also have a black one that is now sold out. I am hoping like this one they restock sometime in the near future!

Miss Guided: Leather Look Drawstring Playsuit

I have been in jumpsuit heaven lately. Who knows maybe I have been dreaming about warmer weather.

Sale of the Day: French Connection- Jumpsuit Mona Crepe

Nothing beats a simple, one and done outfit. Slip it on and you're out the door. I was surfing Bloomingdales (yet again) and saw this little jewel. It is currently on sale for $118.80 but that will end tonight. Regular price is $198.00. 

You guys know I am all about versatility when it comes to outfits! You can wear this anywhere and with almost anything. Although the cleavage may be a little much for work. Ahh well maybe you should save for a night out with your girls or a night out on the town. Either way you should have this in your arsenal!

Sunnies: Cazal 642

When I obsess I usually purchase! I have been plotting over these for about 6 or 7 months. 

Please let me introduce you to the Cazal 642! Cazal isn't only for Run DMC fans. They have an array of beautiful options to choose from.

I wear sunnies all year round and to me these are perfect for the winter. The black and gold detail automatically dress your face. All you need is a little bit of lipgloss and you are polished! 

These bad boys run anywhere from $400 to $600. I promise once I get these in my hand I will snap some shots and post them for you!

My Obsession With eBay: My Watch List

Do you guys remember a while back when I told you I had a sick obsession with eBay (yes I know I have many obsessions)? Well, I went on today decided I would share with you what is currently on my watch list.

First on the list is this Men's Genuine Mink Trapper Hat. I live and die for a trapper hat ever since I saw June Ambrose rocking one. 

More than likely her trapper hat is  custom. Grant it I could go to my furrier and see if he can make me a replica of what she had on but I haven't made it to him all season :-( so the next best thing is shopping online! 

Second on my watch list are these beauties. I have thought of a million outfits I can wear with these shoes (sidenote: eBay is a perfect place to find anything that you missed out on in Zara). I am big on purchasing items that can transition from your work life to your nightlife and these are an amazing example.

Lastly on my watch list-well not really because if I was to really list all of the things on my watch list you would be reading this blogpost until your grandkids graduation!!

Let's start this over! Lastly on my watch list are these color blocking beauties. Again, it is a transitional shoe. You can rock these with a dope dress or some orange wide leg pants and a white blouse for work! For nightwear you can rock these with a  pair of distressed shorts and a white blazer. You have a multitude of options. 

If you have the patience to look and bid- eBay is the perfect site for you! I know it's not for some but it can be very beneficial! If you have never been on the site look it up and let me know how you like it.

Sale Alert: Hunter Rain Boots- Original Tall

Along with the long weekend comes amazing sales! I was just perusing through Bloomies App on my phone and I saw these amazing babies! Hunter Rain Boots are definitely a classic item. Originally $148.00 they are on sale for $99.00! Oh and I checked they have an array of sizes to choose from (anywhere from a U.S. 5 to 9) 

Please don't think that these big department stores are always super expensive! They have great deals and ever more amazing return policies.

Lippies: Wine/Plum Colors

Let me apologize! I feel like all I have been posting about lately are dark lippies! See here and here. But I cannot get enough of them. To make matters worse my obsession became deeper once I saw this picture.

Rih Rih made my heart skip a couple of beats! Not only the lips but the whole look is sick. Her eyebrows, makeup and hair are all a perfect combo. It kind of looks like she had 20 minutes to get ready and pulled it off! 

You know how that is ladies?? You get a quick "let's go to brunch/movie/mall run" and you throw things together hit your face with a quick beat and it WORKS!! Yes GOD!!!! 

Anywho back to the lippie...

I posted the above pic yesterday and one of my followers said suggested this color was "Train Bleu" by NARS. "Train Bleu" is a matte deep plum. It looks a tad lighter that what Rihanna has on but that may be because of several different reasons. One may be the picture has been filtered or the lipstick thickly applied. Either way I trusted my followers suggestion and purchased it. I cannot wait until it gets here! 

The color that Rihanna has on honestly reminds me of "Boyfriend Stealer" from MAC's Archie collection which came out two years ago. The only difference is the color she has on is matte. If she is wearing Boyfriend Stealer she could have achieved  the matte look by blotting with powder (excellent tip for turning any glossy lipstick to matte! click here)

Definitely a lot of choices to achieve this amazing look! If you have any suggestions of what this lip color is please leave it below.
